Let’s talk thrillers. I haven’t read much David Baldacci but picked up a copy of Absolute Power at a thrift shop recently because I enjoyed the movie years ago. What a premise! What would happen if you witnessed the president committing a serious crime? The movie plot diverges significantly from the book, I think to give Clint Eastwood more to do. In the book, Baldacci does a great job of putting his protagonist in one hopeless situation after another, almost to the very end. A lot of books claim to be page-turners (I’ve used that term in my own ads) but this one truly is. I need to give Baldacci’s books a closer look.

Thanks for coming to the forum, where crime fiction and thriller fans meet to discuss anything and everything related to the genres. Be it a favorite book, author, movie, or TV show, let's hear your take. I'm also open to questions and comments about my books, so fire away! When I'm not writing, I enjoy fiddling around on my guitar. Paul McCartney has nothing to fear, but I have fun.

I began my writing career in 2004 with publication of the nonfiction book Austin, Texas: Then and Now. After two more nonfiction works, I decided to start making stuff up, starting with the historical fiction novel Lamar's Folly. Following a political farce and a stand-alone thriller, I wrote Blunt Force Trauma, book 1 in the Adam Cash mystery series. I intend to stay focused on Cash for the foreseeable future. Enough about me. Pull up a chair, pop open a Packsaddle Pils (Cash's favorite beer) or ice-cold Coke (in a glass bottle, of course), and tell us about yourself! Back when I had as much hair as my dog Charley.
